Zeroflash has been running a monthly competition for the last two and a bit years and in that time we’ve had some simply, outstanding entries from some incredibly talented writers from across the globe.

It’s been a while in the making, but here we are, it’s that time where we say…let’s publish a book!

This will be an e-book publication, with the potential to print a few token paper copies as and when finances allow.

Max word count: 300

Theme: Any of the Zeroflash themes from the beginning of the competition onwards – Horror, Drama, Sci-Fi, Abandoned buildings, cows running in fields when called by a trumpet version of a Katy Perry tune, ducks in ponds, Godzilla roars and more. Have a look back at the monthly competition for a favour of what we like.

Number of pieces required: We’ll keep accepting until we feel it’s right. Vague? OK, how’s 15,000-20,000 words. That’s a fair few acceptances.

Submissions are open NOW!

Deadline: December 31st.

Paying: Sadly not. The e-book will be at a token price – Amazon rules and those that have work in the anthology will, of course, receive a free e-copy.

Honesty, we’d love to pay, we’d love to print and we’d love to make you all rich, but the best we can do is share your work and talent with the world through this e-book and our Twitter channel and hope for publishing contracts for all. Fingers crossed.

Submissions: Please email your 300 word flash fiction entry to and state that this is for the anthology and not the monthly competition or as a stand alone piece.

Many thanks and we can’t wait to read what you create.

Note: entries can be based on the September and October themes.
